Just like midgets and porn, fast food and fatties, or even corporations and caca.. We find ourselves dancing around a life full of putrid pairings and unspoken sickness.  Change that!

Happy kid at Zion Canyon Music Festival last Fall

Just think of a time you walked under a sparkling blue sky. The warm earth under your feet working poetry with the wind, bringing a smile to your face, genuine and full of opportunity. Your skin soaked up the golden rays, while your ears were treated to the laughter of happy kids as they stained there clothes with lolly pops and dirt. That feeling so simple and pure, CAN be recreated. Lets do it, and start by making a kick-ass meal!

The Beginning

Gandhi told us to “Be the change you want to see in the world”. Well I say “Drink and Eat the change you want to Taste!” Vote for what’s Yummy, Vote with your Tummy! Enjoy a dinner like the one below. For we all know, ladies love a man who makes them a craft beer dinner!

I made that!

Pick Your Beer!

Craft Beer & Brewer: Mendocino Brewing Co. Award Winning Blue Heron Pale Ale

simple elegance

Aroma: Light citrus floral notes, with a slight bready addition

Appearance:Flaxen Haze complimented by Amber hues.

Body & Mouthfeel: well carbonated medium to light body, explores and swishes around your mouth with ease,

Flavor: Light Malt moving into a balanced hoppy orange peel center. Finishing with a Light Lemon herbal after-taste. Very Clean & Cleansing on the palate.

Alcohol: 6.1%

@MrBikerBrew Thinks: Light, clean, crisp, excellent when paired with comparatively lightly spiced foods (like my salad!). Best WITH dinner or lunch. As it allows neither the food nor the beer to take one or the other over. By itself I prefer a fuller body and deeper range of flavor.

Pair Your Beer with Complimentary Foods!

Salad: Chopped Carrots, diced Onion, chopped Kale, sliced yellow Tomatoes, Goat Cheese Crumbles, Chipotle Ranch drizzle. Chop veggies equally, hand toss, top with Goat cheese crumbles and drizzle with Chipotle Ranch. Its that simple!

Mouthwatering for sure!

Main Course: Whole Foods (Follow: @WholeFoods) Organic Vegetable Lasagna (Frozen) Throw in in the Microwave for 5 minutes and top with the salad fixings left on the cutting board! And when your dinner date looks at you funny, feel smart and say: “WASTE NOT WANT NOT!”

Simple Fast and YUMMY!

Wrap it together with Great Tunes!

Music to Compliment your Meal: Shawn Lee’s Ping Pong Orchestra fest. Nino Mochella – Kiss The Sky

Craft beer and Healthy food represent REAL change… that Taste Good! Craft beer is made by brewers who are “small, independent, and traditional.” (http://www.craftbeer.com/pages/beerology/small-independent-traditional)  They don’t use High Fructose Corn Syrup as a sugar source, they support there local communities through jobs, quality ethics, and of course the gift of Cheer!  Drink a pint tonight! Make a pairing of healthy food and honest beer like Mendocino’s (Follow: @MendoBrew) Blue Heron Pale Ale. And you will have a smile on your face as big as mine!

Agreed, homemade organic is better then frozen organic lasagna. Both though, are healthier then cheetos :D

Great idea! Here I am thinking that beer dinners/pairings have to be these exotic/exhausting meals. Frozen lasagne? Who doesn’t love that? A perception has been smashed!
